Chakras and healing crystals
The intention of this website was to spread some knowledge about how I interact with my spirituality. Something simple, which really helped me, was my work with crystals, meditation, and energy work. There are many crystals that have various healing properties.
Usually, the first step to choosing a crystal, at least for myself, is to tune into your body and your spirit. Feel any tension, discomfort, emotion that may be existing in your body.
A persistent issue I have is discomfort in my heart or chest - my heart chakra. I have many different methods that I use when approaching the ways in which I practice energy work. It could be something as simple writing and reflecting, doing an emotional release exercise, or crystal healing work. You may choose to do whatever you’d like at the moment.
Subtle energies flow in and out of us through the chakras, also known as the psychic centres. The spine is like a stem and the chakras are like flowers growing from this stem, through the body, and out a few inches in front of the body, in the aura. Our thinking and our health are inextricably linked with the flow of energy through the chakras, which makes an understanding of them very important.

When tuning into your emotions, note that you have 7 different major energy centers in your body.
The crown chakra (Sahasrara or Brahma-chakra)
Third eye (Ajna)
Throat chakra (Vishuddha)
Heart chakra (Anahata)
Solar plexus chakra (Manipura)
Sacral chakra (Svadhishthana)
Root chakra (Muladhara)
The aura is made of a more “subtle” substance than is the physical body, this energy surrounds and makes up our physical bodies. The aura is affected by all kinds of things: the way we think, who we talk to, our environment and so on. The condition of the aura affects the condition of the physical body, and vice versa.
Just as an individual can tune into their own bodies, or possibly sense the aura of other individuals, intuitively, we also have the ability to sense the healing properties of crystals. One exercise I like to do is hold various crystals in front of me, clothes my eyes, breathe, reach out my hand, and see which one calls out to me based on my energetic attraction towards it. Often, our bodies are very instinctive about what it needs.
Some of my personal favorite healing crystals:
Selenite: High Frequency Connection, Grounding, Attracts Divine Energy, Defines Purpose
Celestite: Gentle Attunement, Universal Support, Spiritual Guidance, Throat, Third Eye & Crown Chakras
Amethyst: Energy Protection, Stress Reduction, Mood Regulation, Crown Chakra

Citrine: Attracts Wealth & Prosperity, Calms Stomach & Digestion, Crown & Solar Plexus Chakras
Carnelian: Energy Boosting, Stimulating, Charging Other Crystals, Supports Reproductive Organs

When picking out your crystals, first identify what you feel you’re missing before looking into what stones can provide you. This will help you indicate what’s going on within yourself before depending on outside sources.
From there, just let your intuition choose what’s best for you. Whether a crystal catches your eye or you can feel a physical pull toward one, intuitively, your inner subconscious will help guide you to the crystal that’s right for you.
Cleansing your crystals
You should cleanse any new stones you bring into the house straight away to get rid of any negative energy they may have acquired on their previous journey, as well as any time you want to refresh the crystal and clear it of any residual unwanted energies.
Here are a few different methods that I use for cleansing my crystals:
Submerge the crystal you wish to cleanse in a bowl of salt water.
Smudge new crystals with a sage stick or run them through sage smoke.
Leave crystals outside under the full moon for 24 hours.
Charging your crystals
There are various ways to charge your crystals.
Here are some common techniques that I use:
Hold the crystal in your right hand and imagine a white light surrounding the stone while you recharge the stone and set your intention.
Place the crystal under the moonlight or sunlight for 24 hours.
Tingsha chimes, singing bowls, or tuning forks can be used to recharge crystals as they absorb the vibrations of the sound.
Place the crystal that needs charging with other crystals such as amethyst, quartz, and selenite, which can absorb the energies of other crystals and regenerate them.
Go back to the earth and bury your crystal in the garden for 24 hours. If you don't have a garden, place your crystal into the soil of a flower pot.
When charging your stones you have to visualize what you want from it and set your intention, making sure to open your mind and heart to their healing vibrations.
Crystal Meditation
After cleansing your crystals, it is important to set it with an intention. Ground yourself and ask your highest self and highest beings to help you in this session, and set your intention that any information or actions are for the highest good to yourself and to humanity. Then, ask your crystals for permission to use their vibrations. Simply connect to your intuition and feel for an answer.
Connect to your breath and the crystal vibrations, keep your breath relaxed, and see where the energies take you. I like to close my eyes, and tune into my body. Others keep them half to fully open. Do whatever works best for you.
If you notice your mind wandering, that’s completely normal. When this happens to me, I like to try to focus on grounding myself into my body and focus on my physical sensations. If this does not work, I then like to allow my mind to wander. Let myself understand whatever it is that is instinctively coming up for me. Usually, it's because I need some sort of emotional release, whether it’s happiness, sadness, anger, joy, etc. I just try to note that distracting thoughts are normal.
Acknowledge your thoughts and feelings, and let them go. Be aware of sensations from the crystals such as vibrations, visions, or thoughts. Meditate with it and ask how it can help you or how it would like you to work with it, and set the intention. There are many ways you can meditate with crystals.
1. Crystals on your chakras
As mentioned, chakras are energy transducers in your energetic body. Each represents a different part of your physical and spiritual being. When meditating, you can place a crystal on the chakra that aligns with your intention. Laying crystals on your body allows the healing properties to activate those areas and rebalance energies. Chakra balancing is commonly and effectively used by placing the corresponding colored crystals as you meditate.
2. Crystal grids or circles
If you don’t want crystals touching your body while you meditate, you can create a crystal grid or circle. Place your crystals in an intentional shape around you or directly in front of you.
Crystal grids are often beneficial and used by setting crystals upon sacred geometry shapes to focus on during mediation. These can be set up with a specific issue in mind and left to continue their energy work. This may be personal issues or even a larger community or global problems.
3. In the bath
If you’re having trouble relaxing, you may find it helpful to mediate with crystals in a hot bath. A relaxing method is to meditate in the bath with the crystals in the water. However, this is not suitable for selenite or calcite as they will dissolve.
Learning how to work with crystals usually comes from intuition. There is no script or exact rule book, because every spiritual being is different, and has various likes, dislikes, and preferences. It is important to try out methods that work best for you. These are simply some that have worked for me over the past few years. I hope this was helpful!
